Why does JSON disallow trailing commas?
RFC 8259 strictly defines commas as separators between elements rather than terminators. Trailing commas after the last item cause parsing failures in strict JSON parsers.
Can JSON keys use single quotes?
No. According to the JSON standard, all object keys and string values must be enclosed in double quotes ("). Single quotes are illegal.
